Every week I will try and post a code for a free Redbox rental. This one is good for Monday ONLY.

If you have never heard of Redbox, start HERE

Redbox is great if the locations are convenient for you. Sometimes its a pain to lug the kids into the grocery store just to return a movie, but I have just located a box outside at a gas station a couple of blocks from my sons preschool that is much more convenient. Rental charges are $1 for 1 day. You pay $1 for each additional day you have the movie.

So without further ado.... Here is today's code: 57VH9L

On hiatus...

My deal hunting is on hold for a few days! My husband and I are the lucky recipients of 2 tickets to the inauguration of Barack Obama (free). We are staying on the floor of a good friend (free), but I did purchase some sleeping bags yesterday on clearance at Target for only $7.44 each!

I anticipate a lot of standing, and a lot of freezing.... But I am honored to be a part of this historic day and I would stand in the pouring rain if I had to.

Happy saving! Happy Inauguration!

Double Coupons at KMart up to $2

Only 2 days left to save big at KMart with their Super Double Coupons, where they will double manufacturers coupons up to $2! Tons of items are free or pennies if you plan your trip well.

So bust out your coupon stash, and if you don't have one - What on earth are you waiting for? I swear with this economy I have seen at least double the amount of people using coupons from when I started a couple of years ago.

Here is a great site to preview what coupons will be in your Sunday paper, and they also have archives to see which coupons ran in the past. Taylor Town Preview is a great tool for anyone interested in couponing.

Its a little late for this promotion, but I will try and give more notice for next time... But you can order coupons that you want more of, or missed. I use this site The Coupon Master Their rates are super low, shipping is fair and they are super fast.

I have heard of a couple of KMarts not participating, so you may want to call. Also, please note that KMart does not double internet printed coupons.

Happy Saving!

Cheap Date Idea - McCormick & Schmicks

Yes, you read that right! Cheap and McCormick & Schmicks together. The bar menu at McCormick & Schmicks may just be my favorite deal ever. It is a bar menu, so splurge on a sitter and save on the dinner. The menu may vary slightly by locations and maybe even by season but the price points are still the same. Here is a sampling from my visit to the Providence location last month.
***FOR $1.95***
Blackened Chicken Sandwich with Lettuce, Tomato, Onion and Fries (Awesome)
Spicy Rice Balls with Creamy Tomato Sauce (Delish!)
Potato Croquettes with Pomodoro Sauce and Fresh Mozarella
Spinach Dip with Tortilla Chips

Parmasean Garlic Fries with Sherry Mayo
Cheeseburger with French Fries
Hummus with Warm Pita Bread and Olive Oil
Mini Wedge Salad with Blue Cheese Bacon and Tomato
**For $3.95**

Steamed Mussels in White Wine Garlic Broth
Buffalo Chicken Wings with Blue Cheese
Shrimo Scampi Crostini with White Wine Garlic and Roma Tomatoes
Calamari Spiders with Sherry Mayo

Check HERE to see if there are locations near you!

At this price, it seems to be a tapas menu. I assure you it is not. My mom, sister and I had way too much food and we were at the bar with all these giant plates. It was quite a scene. There are tables around the bar at our location, but they are first come first served. We had tickets to a show and couldn't wait for one, but the bar service was just lovely.

There is a minimum $2.50 beverage purchase and the hours are a little bizarro. Please check your location before going.
Sun-Thurs 330p-630p AND 10p-mid
Fri&Sat 330p-6p AND 10p-mid

Enjoy!

Family Fun magazine description from their site:
FamilyFun magazine dishes up crafts, recipes, party ideas and more. Enjoy boredom-defying activities in over 180 splashy, colorful pages. Geared toward parents with young children, this energetic magazine promises to enrich the lives of families. Offering a "we've been there, we know" sort of comfort to parents, folksy first-person articles let parents know they're not alone. A sense of community is expanded further in the "My Great Idea" section--culled from readers' letters--that suggests kid-tested ideas for everything from summer games to rainy-day projects. Homeschoolers will find plenty to ponder as well--a winter issue, for example, describes how a snowflake takes shape, then suggests a paper snowflake-making project. Reviews of digital games, books, videos, and DVDs, written by industry experts, help parents feel up to the minute. FamilyFun is positively inspirational to parents who want to shake up the routine and keep the magic in a family.

Wondertime magazine is one of my favorites! Here is the description from their site:
WONDERTIME is a magazine from the editors of FamilyFun dedicated to helping parents nurture their children's love of learning. A blend of how and why, WONDERTIME inspires moms of infants through 6-year-olds to see the world through the eyes of their children, and to celebrate the wonder of this all-too-fleeting time. WONDERTIME mixes playful activities and everyday adventures with compelling insights into the fascinating ways children develop physically, socially, intellectually, creatively, and emotionally.

New Years Resolutions!

What is yours?

Mine is to actually blog, instead of just thinking about it. And save more money of course!

I am currently working some crazy deals at our local grocery store Shaws. They are having a promotion on Proctor & Gamble (pampers, tide) products and General Mills (cheerios).
Spend $30 and get $15 towards your next purchase! It also overlaps with a Baby promotion that if you spend $25 on baby products (hello Pampers!) you get $5 towards your next trip.

So without any coupons here is how it works out. If you have coupons, the deals are even sweeter!

3 Jumbo packs of Pampers on sale at $10each = $30
Get $15 back + $5 back towards your next trip.
Next trip
3 Jumbo packs of Pampers for $30
-$20 in coupons....
$10 out of pocket, with $20 more in coupons for trip 3.....
and so on and so on and shoobie doobie doo...

I currently have about 15 boxes of cheerios, 15 jumbo packs of pampers and enough Tide and Bounty for quite a while.

Stockpiling things we need will help since I am the latest victim of jobloss due to a shitty economy. YAY!
